Printable Gingerbread House Template
The classic gable house at a standard 6 × 4½ × 4 inch size, ready to print. Press the big button, or change any size first.
Print, cut, trace
- Press Download PDF. On the print dialog choose Actual size or 100%.
- Measure the 1 inch square on page 1 to confirm the scale.
- Cut the paper pieces out. For dough, lay each paper piece on rolled dough and cut round it with a knife; for a reusable template, glue the paper to thin card first.
- Follow the assembly order on the cover page.
Letter or A4
US Letter is 8½ × 11 inches; A4 is 210 × 297 mm. The generator knows both, so the pieces are laid out to fit the printable area of whichever you choose, with a margin for home printers that cannot print to the edge.
Changing the template
Widen the house for a bigger board, lower the roof, or add a door. The side walls and roof panels change with it, so the house still closes.
Questions
What size is the printable gingerbread house?
The preset is 6 inches wide, 4½ inches deep and 4 inches to the wall tops, with a 35° roof and ¼ inch dough. That makes a house about 6 inches tall at the peak: big enough to decorate, small enough for a standard baking sheet.
Is the PDF for US Letter or A4?
Both. Pick US Letter or A4 above the preview; the pieces are packed onto that paper size. Print at 100% either way.
How do I print the template at the right size?
Print the PDF at 100% (Actual size) and switch off “Fit to page” or “Scale to fit”. Page 1 has a 1 inch square and a 2 cm square: measure them with a ruler before you cut anything. If they are exact, every piece is exact.
How many pages will it print?
The standard house prints on a cover page plus three pages of pieces. The cover has the parts list, assembly order and the dough and bake estimate.
Is the template generator really free?
Yes. The Classic gable house, the Log cabin and the Mini mug-topper are free at any size you type in, in inches or centimetres, as a PDF or straight from the print button. Free pages carry one small line at the bottom saying where they were made. The Pattern Pack ($2.99, one-time) adds the other four styles, the extra pieces and a clean page.
